This song is so good. Bizarro ELO vibes, if you ask me, which you did, by being here. It didn't make any sense to me–the song, not why you asked me–but it turns out it's about wanting to be sober, which is, thankfully, a good explanation for the "metal machine" part of the song, which was the hardest part of the song to make any sense out of.
I tried listening to the album this song is from. But I found out that "Raina songs" on Disq albums are rarities, like the "Ringo songs" on Beatles records, so there are not many of them, and I just didn't vibe with the "Disq songs". Maybe my love of this song will make me go back and try again, but I could just spend that time listening to this song a few more times instead.
No offense to Disq, but let's fast forward 5-10 years to when Raina Bock puts out a solo album full of stuff like this. See you then.
