Finally, another band that is just shamelessly going for it. Formal Sppeedwear* is going full New Wave. Unadulterated, shameless.

My wife swears the singer "sounds just like Devo", to which I say, nay, he sounds more like if Thomas Dolby , Gary Numan, and Adam Ant all fucked each other into some sort of Cronenbergian nightmare. Okay, a little splash of David Byrne too. I mean, you get it, this guy's got New Wave Voice down. He's perfected it. He's everything and nothing all wrapped up in one Ur-Voice, bouncing around the songs like a snapped rubber band.

The band's pretty good too, and the production is stellar. I'm just glad that, after the demise of Artificial Pleasure, there is another band that is just really going hard on this kind of schtick. I love it! I'll eat it all up. Give me more.

\* Why such a stupid name? Why are there two 'p' in speedwear? This, I do not like. But, whatever, can't get it all right. My own band name will be tremendously annoying some day.
