Hey. I could yadda yadda on here, but I’m not. Here’s the gist…
First person who recommends me an album I really love (inspired by @nickpepito‘s recommendation of Ha Ha Tonka who has since become one of my favorite bands) gets a $5 (USD) Lala giftcard (if you live outside of a region that Lala operates in then we can work something else out). Just tweet “@staires my recommendation: artist – album”, and I’ll spot it and you’re in.
Please, post recommendations only through Twitter, recommendations sent any other way will not be considered for the prize. One recommendation per person, no cheating please.
I’ll post a list with everyone’s recommendations in the order they’re received with a link to your twitter account. I’ll update this list as I listen to the recommendations with my thoughts until I come up with a winner. It might take me a week (or two) to get through everyone’s recommendations so please allow that amount of time for me to figure out a winner.
I will choose only one winner, but who knows, if more than one album grabs me really strongly I might hand out bonus/runner-up prizes of some sort.
If you’re not following the @staires, please follow me so that I can direct message you when you’ve won. Retweeting my announcement of the contest is recommended but won’t increase your chances of winning—logically it’ll probably decrease your chances of winning but I’ll appreciate it.

The more obscure the better. If you recommend me an artist who charges more than $40 for their concert tickets you’re probably wasting your time. If you recommend me something that I’ve already listened to and did not post about on the site, I’ll let you know and you can change your recommendation and keep your original place in the queue. If you recommend me something I’ve already written about on the site or posted in a playlist then you lose automatically, sorry.
I’ll accept submissions for two days—I’ll set the official cut off time for this round as November 12th 2009 at 11:59 PM PST.

I’ll probably do this every month or two, so keep your eyes peeled if you didn’t win this time around. If $5 isn’t enough to get a strong response I’ll up it to $10/$20. I know that $5 is barely a complete album on Lala, but they don’t offer gift cards good for “one album”.

This isn’t a ‘real’ contest in the sense that I’m not going to hire a lawyer or say it’s not open to people not living in certain regions, I am just a guy with a blog, so don’t expect me to… I don’t know, have some sort of official disclaimer here.
