Hey. I’m just a guy who lives in the suburbs outside Los Angeles. I write about music here because I love to listen to music, and, well, it’s just my hobby, you know? I listen to music, and then I try to spread what I like to other people, because I like it and I think more people should listen to it.
When I write stuff on this website, I don’t do it claiming to know anything at all—a few rock history classes and a good memory for trivia is all I have under my belt—but I do claim to know what sounds good, to me, at least, and I hope that I can usually explain why I like these things. I’m not a musician in the least (I’m pretty much tone deaf and rhythm-less) so when I actually start talking about things in the music I like, I really don’t know what I am talking about, but I think I fake it pretty good.
I only say these things as a disclaimer: the only important thing on this website is the music, and the personal connection we have to it. The people who make it are mostly unimportant to me—except for the awe I express sometimes at their musical prowess. The only other thing that really interests me is the story behind the song, how it came to be, and hopefully some day I can have features on this website that highlight the creative process behind individual songs.
